Printed pattern for raw edge applique using free motion embroidery. Mrs Hazelton, the cook, is busy making jam tarts but she's misplaced her jam! She is a dab hand at pastry, with a lightness of paw few can achieve. Her cheese straws are to die for and the recipe for her scones is a closely kept family secret.
This is the first block in what I hope will be a long series of 15 similar sized blocks, all based on life in a Victorian house, both above and below stairs. At the minute I'm estimating the quilt will be around 42" by 60" but I have a fair way to go before I can confirm that. I'm hoping to use the borders to build up a house complete with roof and chimney :) This block measures 8 by 12" finished (8.5 by 12.5" unfinished.)
I will be looking to complete the remaining blocks over the summer months if you wish to do the full quilt, otherwise it would make a lovely standalone panel. ( For forward notice, this is a discounted pattern so the kits are £12 but subsequent blocks will be more like £15 for the same size.)
This pattern contains the templates along with plenty of colour photographs through each step.
I don't teach you how to do free motion embroidery in this pattern, other than my own hints and tips, neither do I tell you how to set your machine up for free motion embroidery but I do give you all the stages for you to make your own embroidery.
