You can choose from either purchasing the entire quilt at once, or you can purchase the first kit and I will then be in touch to purchase the rest of the patterns at monthly intervals. Please consider carefully before starting a block of the month on whether you are able to purchase all the patterns. It can be difficult for me to sell the remaining blocks of an incomplete quilt. :)
The full kit is £270 plus postage.
The BOM is £34 a month plus postage and runs for 8 months. Postage to the UK is an additional £1.50 and overseas is £5 a month.
The full quilt is a soft palette of creams, lilacs, greens and turquoises. There is a central 16" motif, an 8 inch inner border with patchwork and applique and then a 2 inch pain lighter border. This quilt measures 36 by 36" and would be ideal on the wall or to cuddle up under. The blocks are irregular sizes to give me more opportunity to incorporate larger designs. So month one will be the background for the centre plus half the applique panel, and month two have the second half of the applique fabric.
Each block will cost £34 (with the last block reduced by the deposit) plus postage. Postage for the UK is £1.50 per month, and oversea is £5 per month. You can also choose to have all the blocks delivered in one go and I will only charge for postage once.
The quilt itself is in my usual style, so it is a patchwork background with raw edge applique sewn with free motion embroidery. You don't need a fancy machine to sew it but your machine needs to be able to do free motion embroidery. The pattern contains basic instructions for the patchwork. I don't go into a lot of detail on patchwork as I am assuming that you know the basics but other than the odd half square triangle, it is all pretty simple. The kits contain the fabrics, freezer paper and stabilizer you will need to complete the top. You will need to purchase your own threads but I do list every thread that I use so you can use the same if you wish to. The fabrics are supplied as a rectangle/square big enough for the shape you need. No laser cutting so you are relying on freezer paper/pencil and scissors to cut the shapes out yourself. I like this step as it is quite therapeutic. I label all the fabrics with little stickers which tell you what they are to be used for so it makes it a little easier to know which bit goes where. I use raw edge techniques and the patterns are using those instructions, but you could also use needle turn techniques, but no instructions will be given. For some of the pieces, you would need additional fabric to use needle-turn. I do give a little extra, but it might be tight on some of the smaller pieces and you would need to purchase additional fabric.
Hopefully that all makes sense, but please don't hesitate to ask if anything is unclear.
