PDF pattern contains the templates along with plenty of colour photographs through each step.
The picture shown is the 8" version. The 12" would be easier for beginners. Obviously you can cut the 8" block from the 12" kit :)
I don't teach you how to do free motion embroidery in this pattern, other than my own hints and tips, neither do I tell you how to set your machine up for free motion embroidery but I do give you all the stages for you to make your own embroidery.

The instructions and drawing are good. My biggest challenge was transferring the pattern onto the fabric. My first attempt was fine, but in my next attempt I will be using water soluble embroidery film to trace the pattern onto as a guide. I will also use Heat & Bond Lite on the applique pieces because I want to put it on a market bag.
